2011 garden season
CASFB Community Garden
Starting in late April, Community Action Services and Food Bank will be leasing small garden plots in their community garden behind the Boulders Apartments located at approximately 654 W 750 S in Provo (click on the map below for more detail). The CASFB Community Garden will allow families with limited yard space to grow their own fresh produce alongside their neighbors and other community members.
Garden Plots are measured in 4’X20’ rectangles with 4’ walkways between plots. Watering will be provided as a service of the garden. Gardeners will be responsible for providing their own tools, seeds, etc. CASFB Community Garden will be renting plots on a sliding scale starting at $10/month for the six month gardening season (explanation: depending on an individual family’s particular financial circumstance a reduced monthly fee agreement can be decided). A $20 rebate will be given at the end of the season if garden plots are cleaned of all weeds, green waste, etc.
How do I sign up?
On Saturday, April 30 from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m., we will be at the garden site registering families for plots until the garden space is filled. Rental fees can be paid by cash or check. During registration families will choose their plot. Paint and marking stones will be available for children who would like to claim their family’s plot with a decorative stone. Plots will be rented on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you can not make it to a Saturday registration, please contact us and you can make an appointment to register on a different day.
